Why do Seventh-day Adventists meet on Saturday?

Church Program Sabbath

Throughout the Bible God attaches special significance to the seventh day of the week, a day the Bible calls ‘Sabbath’.

  • We see this in the Creation account (Genesis 2:1-3)
  • The Ten Commandments  (Exodus 20:8-11)
  • The  ministry of Jesus (Luke 4:16)
  • Jesus’ disciples in the New Testament (Acts 17:2)
  • God promises a blessing on those who will remember the seventh day Sabbath (Isaiah 58:13,14)

The seventh day of the week is what we commonly call Saturday.
